Piano students experience the joy of accomplishment

    Piano Lessons

Piano students experience the joy of making and understanding music. They learn to play music with a well-balanced body and a focused mind. They learn to read music, and appreciate music theory. Playing the piano helps students learn to listen, and to hear more in music. It enriches the mind and nourishes the spirit, and expresses the beauty of being alive.

Piano students learn in weekly private lessons, supplemental group classes, and participate in recitals. Suzuki methods and materials provide a framework, and additional repertoire may be chosen from classical and contemporary music. For children ages 3 and up, parental involvement is supported, and encouraged. It is never too late to learn to play the piano, and adult students are also welcome.
Babies, toddlers, and caregivers enjoying SECE classes

    Suzuki Early Childhood Education

In SECE classes, children ages 0-3 develop their musicality, while building character and confidence, and experiencing the joy of making music with a parent or caregiver. Class activities include songs, rhymes, stories, and movements, and everything is simple enough to be done at home together between classes. Classes feature beautiful live music with gentle, non-electronic instruments.

Studies have shown many benefits to the developing brains of babies and toddlers who engage in music. Just as valuable is the guidance for a parent or caregiver to create a musical home, and learn to observe their child's musical development. Join us to sing and play together in this precious window of time in your child's life.

    About Me

I have always loved to sing and play the piano, and I have been fortunate to study music throughout my lifetime, including as my major in college. As a young professional, I worked as a classical singer. I have taught music lessons in private practice for over 30 years.

I am an active member of the international community of Suzuki music teachers. I have attended the biennial conference of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and the first Suzuki Conference of the Americas in Mexico. I participate regularly in summer Suzuki Institutes, and I have taken Suzuki teacher training courses in piano, and Suzuki Early Childhood Education.

    Why Learn Music?

Music study always improves our lives. It strengthens us as individuals, while it deepens our connections to our families, communities, and the world. Music sharpens our minds, speaks directly to our hearts, and brings out our best qualities as people. Music makes life more meaningful.

As music educator Shinichi Suzuki (1898-1998) said, "Music exists for the purpose of growing an admirable heart." Music expresses our humanity. It is a message of hope for the world, in a language everyone can speak.

From little seeds grow big trees

"Perhaps it is music that can change the world!"

    -- Pablo Casals

Learning to speak "the language of the heart"

    "Every child can!"

    -- Shinichi Suzuki

Becoming our best selves through music

"Where love is great, much can be accomplished."

    -- Shinichi Suzuki
